PFLAG Door County is collecting gently used egg cartons made from all materials as part of a partnership between UWGB Campus Cupboard and Closet.

https://www.uwgb.edu/cupboard/ and Paul’s Pantry http://www.paulspantry.org/

The UWGB Campus Cupboard and Closet is a service that provides food, cleaning, clothing, kitchen and some household items to students who need a little support to help them as they complete their educational goals, or to not take on a second or third job so they can focus on their studies. An average of 45 students use the Cupboard each semester. Some of the students have unusual expenses in which they need support one time, others have limited or no family support and need food, cleaning or school supplies because they have $5 left in their savings after buying gasoline or bus tickets to get to work. Each story is different, but the need is present.

In particular, the Closet is in need of gently used male clothing, sweaters, hats, mittens and scarves for all genders, and kitchen utensils, pans and drinking glasses. The Campus Cupboard is in need of laundry soap, toothpaste, canned fruit, cold and hot cereal, vegetarian items, gluten-free items, and canned tuna or chicken. Donations can be brought to the Pride Center, or arrange for a curb drop-off with intern Jay at peacjm@uwgb.edu

PFLAG Door County members are collecting items for monthly drop-offs at UWGB. For more information contact: pflagsturgeonbay@gmail.com
